About

Tim Basom is a guitarist and educator living and working in New York City. Although formally trained in the jazz idiom, Tim's skillful musicianship and collaborative approach have allowed him to forge artistic relationships spanning multiple genres. Tim regularly performs with a number of talented pop artists and singer-songwriters and is actively involved in cabaret and theatrical productions, including his current position as  Guitar 2 on Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen.

Tim has had the opportunity to tour nationally and internationally and to perform at most of New York's well-known (and not so well-known) music venues. He is a proponent of music education and has been on faculty at Turtle Bay Music School, and Mark Murphy's Music. He also maintains his own private teaching studio.

Tim earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Akron in 2008, and a Master of Music  in Instrumental Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 2011.
